Allis G running rich

Hi.I have an Allis G that is running rich.Float valve and seat are new.New gaskets.Blew out all the holes.Have changed float level a few times.Either to rich or it won"t stay running.Any suggestions?

I dont understand the statment (either to rich or wont stay running) What do you change that would cause it to be one way or the other. The only manual adjustment is for idle. Is the running rich problem with idle? The power jet as I remember has an o ring seal. It will not run correctly with that o ring bad. Others might have the answer but I would need more information.

I changed the float in the carb so the gas would shut off quicker.We figured it was flooding out.I realize the main jet is fixed.I'm not sure where the o ring goes.Right now it is over the end of the plug that goes in after the main jet.Picture looks like there is a small gasket on the jet where it screws up into the bowl.Idle adjustment is 1/2 turn open.Idles rich and as you speed engine up it still runs rich.Black smoke comes out at every speed.

The only thing you use the idle addjusting screw for ti to make the tractor idle as slow as it will run or to the slow rpm setting with a tac if you have one. The float setting has a setting from the base which is in the manual and once set is not an adjustment for other running problems. I am at work and where I can get an other information but I think you are correct on a little red fiber washer gasket but I think it is for the plug that holds the jet in place. The o ring is just on the outside of the power jet.
Once you have the idle set when the throttle opens the idle jets is out of the system for the most part. If you get the engine up to top speed you can screw the idle adjustment screw out and stick it in your pocket and it will not change the running of the engine.
Without being there I would guess you would need to reset the float as called for and if you can not get it to idle take a compression check.
