It's a little premature but I'm going to look at a WD-45 Saturday of a family friend that lost their dad and because I spoke for it some time ago and he wouldn't sell it but he wanted me to have first dibs when he passed so now the time has come. I don't really know what kind of shape it is in now but the kids tell me he just put new rear tires on it two years ago and he had it running last summer. It has a wide front end some weights and a two bottom SC plow, rear SC blade and SC cultivator which I haven't seen. Point is what's a fair price to offer for the tractor and implements. Tractor has set outside is weathered but sheet metal is good and muffler has a raincap on it. I would appreciate your input.

Thanks folks for the input you have given. They have given me a price for a bunch of AC equipment plus an additional tractor of which I really want. The good thing is they are down home people that want a straight answer. Can't get any better than that. The point is I'm not a jockey and don't have the time nor the space to try and move all that stuff plus the wife and the neighborhood would have me run out on a rail to have all that stuff parked here.If it comes for me to have it and work out a deal I'll post them here. We'll see. Thanks again. CT

This type of situation can put a person in an uncomfortable spot...It may be easier on you to ask the family what price they have arrived at, and if you feel the price is fair; buy it..If they are totally over-priced, Well//ya can't win them all...I'm in about the same spot at this time..The WD that I grew up on is now sitting unused, as the old gent who bought it from my uncle's grandson has recently passed away...

As JMS said, make sure it is a WD45. The 2 bottom plow would make me wonder just a little. A WD45 has a solid block while a WD had a big bolt on plate on the side of the block. WD is worth around $500. less in may cases. Also make sure the tractor runs and that the transmission does not jump out of gear. If it does not run, there is no way you can tell about the transmission, and in that case you might be buying a parts tractor, which might not bring the price of tires at an auction.

First of all make sure it's a WD45. Serial number on the differential will be 146607 or above. Typical around here with average rubber will be about $1500, especially with a factory wide front. Better ones about $1900. Never saw one under the $1125 I paid for mine- new rear rubber. Plow and cult are 125-200 each, but the SC rear blade goes about double if you can find one.

Just the tractor alone I have seen sell for as little as $750 with good tires and fair sheet metal up to around $3000. Now add the equipemnt and say each are worth about $150-250 each for them. Its your call. Those are prices I have seen at auctions in the last 2-3 years
