Finally got the B home

This week I didnt get pulled over :D

I can tell ya 11mph ish isnt very fast when the tractor runs on 3 holes after the first mile. It ended clearing up and running right about 2 miles from home. Wasnt paying attention -i.e. drooling over all the other farm machinery as I was putting by :D I think it was teasing me after sitting there for a hour and a half.

Did notice that the tractor needs more parts after getting home - spindles need rebuilt amoungst other stuff and needing a engine rebuild someday ( mmm bigbore kit)


Had fun - cept the dirt road with all the slushy mud and pot holes

Matt good looking B, should be an easy fix. I don't see any dents int the sheet metel. Seems like a rare thing for not much rust for your area!!!

Its a homade like setup _ can get pics of it

Needa buy a factory cushin and replace the angle iron that the pad and all that sits in.


Or I"m thinking of going to one of the aftermarket seats that were used. The seat thats on their now isnt very comfortable.

If you want to go with a factory type seat let me know. I have one on hand, I would need to fix a broken weld or 2 on it but thats now big deal since I'm a retired welder. It has the factory back reast on it but no cushion but again thats not all that hard to make with a piece of plywood and some foam rubber once you have the part it sits in that is. E-mail is open

Or is that helps to fall off tractor. Seen a good many made that sort of way and because of it you hit the right/wrong bump and your under the tractor or the equipment your pulling. As I said I have a factory seat for it if you end up wanting one

Yea I'll prolly just do a factory seat, so the kid can ride with me ( she also got a wagon for c-mas, so that means wagon rides behind the B :D

Looks like a great project! We make both the factory seats with springs and canvas or the vinyl/foam seats. We also make cushions for the ones that came with a pan seat.

Craig, received your e-mail about number of springs in my B's seat. No I dont know for sure how many springs are in it, I would have to take it apart for that. Hope you understand my not wanting to do that, but looking through the 7/8" hole here is a good gussemation; coils about 21/2" dia.,wire is about 1/8" dia. about 6 springs wide, & 11 springs long (66 springs?)The springs themselves are also tied together with wire. I can put a welding rod on them and push them down about 1 1/4" with 3 fingers. The seat measures 41/2" high overall. I hope this helps and does not offend anyone by ansering here because I can receive E-mail, just cant send it.

Thanks Stonewall for the help. I understand you don't want to take the seat apart. In the mean time, I think I figured out the # of springs to use for the seats. I appreciate you helping out!!

Matt can you tell me anything about the air cleaner?

Is that a factory option or an addon?

By the way I liked the video you posted the link to.

I have always thought about doing a video of our tractors at work.
