I'm replacing a 2900 engine with a broken crank, in a 200 tractor, with a 2900 engine out of a G combine. The tractor has hardened timing gears, don't know about the combine motor. Would the Hyd. pump wear the timing gears out on the combine engine? Should I use the cam with bolt on gear and crank gear out of the tractor engine in the combine engine?

Thanks for the input JR64. I thought I should use all the hardened gears off the 200 engine, the cam in the 200 has a bolt on gear so I would have to use that cam, but the 200 engine has a crank driven oil pump and the combine engine has a cam driven pump, so I don't know if it would work or not. Guess I'll find out when I tear into it.

I don't know if this applies to a 200, but I looked at putting hardened gears in my 190 and XT when they went out. I got the hardened gear to fit on the crank, but it takes a different camshaft for the hardened cam gear to fit.
