I have a 52wd that had a rebuild done many years ago. The wd45 kit was put in the engine and wd 45 decals put on the tractor when the rebuild took place. I am currently restoring this tractor. Should I put wd or wd45 decals on it?

Does it have a 45 crank? If not then it is an under powered WD. If it has the 45 crank then it is a souped up WD. In then end it is still a WD.

To me unless its a TRUE WD$% it should have WD not WD45 on it. Theres scam after scam where a person buys X tractor iand is told its XX and its not as told and the person is very unhappy when they find out they don't have what the person/decals say they have. As the other guy says its still a WD and will never be any thing but a WD with a WD45 kit in the engine so even the engine is still a WD other then the guts. That type of thing is done all the time with the ford 9N/2N and 8N people buy the tractor as an 8N then find its a 9N or 2N and are very unhappy.I saw that type of thing this past Sept. a guy had a WD at a show and the paper on the front said it was a WD45 and it wasn't it was a plain jane WD. Sad to see thing like that at a show. So please think of the future you never know who in 20-40 years will end up with your tractor

IMHO it is in no way a WD45. It`s a WD with a souped up engine. The block is WD, the transmission is WD, the decals should be WD. Lots of people seem to have bought tractors based on decals that were wrong, and I am yet to hear one of them who was overjoyed at not getting what they thought they were getting. In my opinion, a person should never trust decals alone. A WD is a great tractor, and when you boost the power it can be even better, but that does not make it a WD45.

That depends upon what you want when you"re done. If you want the tractor to be "correct" for the year, you should put WD on it. If you want to boast about the engine, you can put the WD45 decals on. Personally, I would put the WD decals back on it. That"s what I"m doing with my "51 model. Tim
