I have a 1952 wd45. The shifter handle is straight, it is not curved back? Is the straight handle original?

Original. They do not interchange. First curved shifter came in 1952 at serial number 127008. It was still a WD. 1952 WD production went from 105182-131242. 1953 WD production was 131243-146606. WD45 started in 1953 at serial number 146607.

If it's a 1952, it's a WD, not a WD45 and it would have a straight shift lever.

From what I understand they didn't make the WD45 tills 53 or 54. I would say you have either a WD or if you don't have the cover plate on the right side of the engine a WD with a WD45 engine in it. The engines will bolt right in. Either way it sounds like you have a WD rear end at least

My 1952 wd or wd 45 with the straight shifter does have the cover on the right side of the motor. So does that make it a 52 wd chassis with a wd45 motor? If it will help the serial# is 121129.

Thankyou

Thats makes it a WD with a WD engine in it. The WD45 engine is the one that doesn't have the side plate on the right side. So you have a 1952 WD which is around 34HP. The WD45 is about 43HP
