I have an elderly friend of mine that quit farming. He is selling his equip. off piece by piece instead of an auction.He has a 79 7020 with 5600 hrs on that he wants to sell me.It has about 750 hrs. on a complete MOH.Paint is good,tires are good,top link is there for the 3 point it has a full rack of front wts. and duals.Cab interior is just so-so.the tach doesn't work but the hr. meter does.it has the power director tranny.he would like $5500 and he will throw in some other small pieces of machinery.does anyone have any input on this? i am not an allis guy but it would make a good planter/mowing tractor with possible loader use in the future. any comments would be helpful. thanks

A lot of things to take into consideration i.e. tire condition, battery age Blah, Blah but I'm assuming since they did a major 750hours ago it has a new rear main seal and they should have checked out the flywheel torque limiter which was a little bit of stinker on the 7000 series tractors. Someone on this site knows how to do the simple test better than me. If it fails you're in for a split job. I do know they were supposed to have done an upgrade on the black belly tractors to improve the problem. Otherwise if that is Ok she's a great tractor! Running at optimum power curve of the 301 turbocharged intercooled diesel that girl sounds good and likes to work very fuel effecient. Oh does it have stadium lights? If you do night work they're very nice to have. Good Luck, CT.

It's a great price. Most I have seen have been $8000-12000.

I just paid $6000 for my 76 7000. Full front weights, inside rear weights, duals, cab, redone AC, all fluids.

Everything is above average condition for the year.

Sounds like a pretty good price based on what I have been looking at for the last 2 years, especially if he is going to throw in a few implements.

I wanted to find something newer then my Allis 200. Found a 7020 that a widow had on consignment at a dealer. She wanted $8000. Her husband had the dealer go thru the tractor. He had $7500 of work done to it. They showed me the invoices. Your price is a good one....

Not an expert on the 7000 series but from what I remember seeing on other boards and ebay,that is a very good price.
