I took all of the bolts off the oil pan on my Allis B, dropped the pan to remove it, and suddenlyu, it would not come off. I was hitting the large nut that holds the front axle to the frame. What am I doing wrong? Does that nut have to come off?

joe take and pull the cotter key out of the pin holding the "WISHBONE FTR END", then just tap the bolt or pin flush with inside. this will allow you enough room to take it out from the right side. took mine out a few times. got to that point and said no way in h#%% am i going to drop the front end to get this pan off. it will work. just be carfull don't go blasting the pin like a wild man. you can always block it if you wanted.

You may as well roll that frontend away! The oil pickup will not let you out either. It will hit the wishbone, btdt. You may be able to screw it out with the pan dropped, but I just sawed it off since I was robbing a locked junker.

I agree with Dick. Plus be careful not the bend the pan or you will have problems when you put it back on, and if its a cast iron pan be even more careful because they brake easier then the sheet metal ones

Some will come out with a little wiggling and others have to have the front axle plate nuts loosened and pryed forward about a half inch.

Some of the pans are slightly larger than others.
