Does anyone know the correct original height of the bench seat cushion for a "48 B? Not a foam replacement, but the original type with springs. Seems to me that it was about 6in or so, but I can"t remember for sure since it was pretty well worn out when I last used the tractor as a kid.

Thanks, Stonewall!! The description that you have provided in the 12/15/06 post is excellent information! I"m pretty well convinced that I will try and get a seat made that matches the original spring seat design with the green canvas cover. You're right - this site is a great source of information. Thanks, again!

My C has a total foam seat but I have a freind who is now passed away that was the best apolstry man I have ever met and he always was recovering tractor seats.

One day he was covering a spring seat for a allis b/c and for the life of my old memory I cant remember how tall it was and I even measured it myself but I think it was around 6 or so inches.
