I have a starting problem. This tractor has a good battery and the glow plugs light just fine but when I turn the key the other direction to start the engine nothing happens. I have cleaned alot of the connections and have bypassed the saftey switches on the gear shift and PTO. Still nothing. I had the starter checked and they said it worked fine and was one of the quietest starter motors they have ever heard. But they were not able to tell me whether the solenoid was good or not. So, I'm down to the switch or the solenoid. If anyone out there has experienced similar problems with this tractor please email me and let me know. Thanks

I had the same problem, I just had the starter rebuilt, works great now, it needed brushes, warning, when having it rebuilt, if the teeth on the drive are not worn, don't replace it, they will not have the right drive for it, it seems to be a mystery part.

Have you checked the interlock switch. ie the 'S' position on the gear shift. If that does not connect you will not have elec. power to the starter.
