Dont really know the price of tractors. I am looking at an early 70's allis chalmer 170 nice paint body motor etc. Could use new front tires has live hydraulics with a nice loader. From the northern region. Any idea as to what may be to much or a a real good deal on a price for this rig. all info appreciated. Thanks

If the tranny is good, I`d say she`d be a steal at $5000, and a good deal at $6000, and just maybe well worth $7000.

On the 175 we bought, 3rd gear had a tooth broke on both gears. About the only way we knew was when we turned right or left pretty hard, (can't remember which), we got a thump. Just in 3rd , no other gears did it.We can't speed shift ours, but really no need to. On the diff., if you jack up both rears and spin one tire the other should rotate the opposite direction.(I think that's right.)I may need some help..... Look at the drain plugs to find metal particles.
