AC 5020 4WD front end steering bearings needed....

I need at least 2 bearings/seals for the 5020, mainly the large thrust bearings with 105 balls in them. Any other bearings for the front end would be of interest too.

I"m also looking for the part numbers for these bearings so I can look for them at salvage sites.

Thanks,
Monte

Monte,

I know this is something you went through a while back. Was hoping you could tell me if the symptoms I am facing are similar to what you went through. I have just 'lost' steering control on my 5020. Had a tire going flat while I was moving a bunch of compost, and was using the bucket in FWD. All of a sudden I could turn the wheel all the way to the right or left stop, and the wheels would not track what I told them to do. As long as I am on level ground, I have a small amount of control. As soon as one of the front wheels hits an obstacle, the wheels will go to full lock without the steering wheel turning with them. I have the owner's manual, and a shop manual that covers the hydraulics, and transmission. It goes into the front axle description, but I think the problem is in the same area as you have had to look at. I'd guess a sheared key on one of the shafts in the steering gear train, rather than at the axle end of things. I cannot find anything in the docs I have that describes what I need to look at. Any help you could provide would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob Nees
