Does anyone have any information on the narrow tread B. Parts manual refers to a 36" tread model. Have never seen one. Just wondering what the difference was. It gives a different # for the seat and I know the tires were bigger.

Unless you are talking about a B?? gardentractor/lawn mower the only referance I have seen of the 36 inch tread width is with the G. Standard G can be set from 64 inches down to 36 inches. Allis made some short axle G"s that could be set narrower but I dont know how much less than the 36 inches they could be set.

No I am refering to a regular B. The parts manual states that they used a 28 in wheel and apparently had a narrow seat frame. Several of the manufacturers had narrow tread tractors for certain vegetable crops. I was wanting to make a clone if I could get the information on the modifications that were made to the rear wheels and seat. The front axle was the same as the regular B.

you are referring to the "Potato B". unless you have a tall spindle adj front end, you cannot fake one. You will also have to fake the straight rear fenders. Reverse the brake supports from side to side, put the hand brakes outside the fenders. The skinny 28" wheels need to be mounted on rims with L shaped attaching brackets. Good luck finding 7-28 tires, or even 8-28's. Dennis Carpenter has 10-28 old tread repro Fords.

Don't try to pass this newly customized machine off on the Allis world, we need less fakes not more.

Go to Dale Haymakers museum in Paris IL if you want to see a real one. He will be having a show the 3rd weekend of July.

If he was to present it as a clone, then there would be no big deal. We need less serious people in the hobby, not more. There are lots of people out there that want to see what some of these rare tractors look like, not travel all the way to Illinois to do so.
