While getting a distrib cap and set of points for my G today.. I see that the cap is a generic for a DR distrib.. and fits.. oh.. about a dozen JD, IH and AC tractors...

Seemed kinda odd at first.. but whatever works I guess..

The distributor are generic enough the I bought a Pertronics electronic convertion for the distributor on my C-II with the G-262 power unit.

I guess anything using the same rotor and points will probably take a similar / same e-ignition unit.

Not suprizing. AC did not make distributors, they bought them from Delco Reemy. Delco Reemy sold distributors to a lot of engine manufacturers.

That must be right--I"ve got an older Niehoff ignition parts catalog, and it only has half a dozen AL and DR caps and point sets for most of the tractors it lists---looks like generic parts and their catalog just covers the tractors they fit...
