Gleaner M unloading auger

Well, we removed the auger assembly, and turned the inner track assembly 90 degrees rather than 180 degrees. This put the two nearly new sections of the track in the high stress area. I welded up the section of track in the auger tube and then made a jig for my 4 inch angle grinder and ground the track out to size. I had to drill a new 1/2" hole to put the balls in. I welded the old hole shut and relocated a new stud there. I then drilled and tapped four holes around the assembly to install grease fittings so as to squirt grease into the tracks. I purchased 129 new balls from Agco and put it all together. My son John, and I installed the assembly today and Bingo!! It works like a dream. Many thanks guys for the insight.

Sounds great.

I just got done about a hour ago putting the two pop rivets in my auger. Needed to make new handles for the POS Pittsburg Forge rivet gun. Would only work straight out from the original handles and wouldn't work inside the tube. Now I need to get the AC fixed before the auger is back in the way of doing that. Maybe Allan can come and help me as he is in the middle of AC work it seems ;-)

Finish up cleaning things out and pull the yield moniter parts and put the old girl away for another year. Been to long and 2T2@ia is getting impatient with me. He had to change oil in his PU in the unheated garage in town while I was in Rochester MN this week, because the combine is taking up all of the shop. Don't blame him really.
