I have owned several B allis, and that looks to be a standard B with the optional adjustable front end that someone has put a D-10 or D-12 engine, hood, and grille on. The potato special, and the assparagus special tractors were high clearance models equipped with 38" rear tires and extended front spindles. A small D series engine will bolt on to the B transmission but the block will have about 1/4" higher flange on the sides. Hope this info has helped. The Allis-Chalmers story is a very informative book if you can find it, it may be helpful in future identifications.

Steering isnt correct for a B looks more like a wide frnt off a C, because it has a gear box in frnt and a B doesnt Herb

Could this be one of those rare "Heinz" tractors?

This is not my tractor but I saw it and it looked like a D series front and a B seat and transmission. Wheels looked like a D series also. Maybe it is a hybrid. thanks

Those look like cast iron hubs on the rear....all spin-out hubs are pressed steel and have a flat face.

I agree- and I can't see any rails for the spinout wheels. The front is definitely D styling- looks like a morphodite to me.

those are standard 24 inch rear rims and looks like they have spin outs--- might be rear wheels are off a D10 or 12, just like the motor and hood.

look a little closer guys, the back end is a B or C tank, transmission, fenders, and seat. the hood and radiator are from a small D series????? ?? what is it, i am not sure. Looks like a mix. What engine is in it. Look on the left side of motor rear edge aginst the fly wheel housing. Might have a serial number and a motor number there???

THAT IS A STANDARD B WITH THE ADJUSTABLE FRONT AND REAR. I HAVE ONE LIKE IT. A LOT AROUND.
ASPARAGUS SPECIALS HAD LARGER REAR WHEELS AND HIGH FRONT SPINDLES TO CLEAR THE TALL PLANTS.

A correction is in order from me. This one is called the Potato Special. As you say, the Asperagus Special does have the high arch and larger tires.

It is a B but it is an Asperagus Special B with an adjustable front axel. Don't know how many were made but I would guess very few.
