I was surfing around TractorData and found an Allis WS that showed 675 CI engine of 84 HP in a 3300lb tractor...has anyone ever seen one of these? or was this just a typo?...sounds like a pretty stout tractor... Don

The S, SO,WS and WSO crawlers were built from 1937-1942. The WS had a 74 inch track gauge, 15.5 ground clearance, 18 inch grousers 12 volt starter, upholstered seat, Drawbar with 32 inch lateral adjustment and 5 speed constant-mesh transmission. The shipping weight of the WS was 19,490#. This information is from the Allis Chalmers Data Book by Terry Dean.

Ok, if you read the listing under Allis Chalmers model S, it says tracks. Also lists a Nebraska test number. Must be some kind of crawler they made. Never heard of either one. Nebraska Tractor Tests from 1920 by CH Wendel and Norm Swinfords construction book should shed some light on the S model. Not sure about the WS. Aaron SEIA

From Ultimate American Farm Tractor, Nebraska test #337 Nov 1939, there was a WS which was a variant of S crawler - 675 ci is a match and 84 hp is a match, 1225 S crawlers & variants made, gas engine, but weight was 20155 pounds and date is obviously not 1950's. There was also an SO which was tested earlier #286 but diesel which was apparently part of the same 1225 total count s/n 3-1227. And of course there was a WK crawler about the same time - not sure but was the W prefix a Wide track version of the K?
