over the weekend a man was killed here in ky when he was hit by a truck. has was on a 8030 and was making left turn off the road when a ranger started to pass and hit the tractor in the wheel it broke the tractor in half and broke the wheel off the man was pinned under the tractor. my brother is a trooper and they estimated the speed of the truck at 80 mph the driver of the truck lived but with a torn heart and had sergury

did the guy on the tractor give any indication he was turning. sounds like he turned without looking. you have to watch out for yourself whether you are in the right or wrong.remember , around farm equipment or anthing, dead is dead! my pull type combine was destroyed when i was moving it at night to AVOID traffic!. well it was earlly morning. i had blinkers on but not enough lights on the machinery according to the law now. i try not to hold up traffic when on the road with tractors because people do have to get to places in a hurry, and they end up having to make up the lost time down the road. i am also a truck driver and i see people in the high speed lane "playing games" with the other motorists. speeding up when someone tries to pass, or passing then getting back into the lane and then slowing down so everyone ends up having to pass them.everything moves faster now. like it or not,this is the time we live in. and if we dont make every attemp to look out for our selves, now one else will. the ones who complain about everyone going fast are the same ones on the job constantly saying "time is money"!i was just in kentucky today and someone was pulling a hay wagon down the high way, no blinkers , just the smv and busy chatting to his buds, ignoring all the traffic building up behind him. our thoughts and prayers go out to the farmer who was killed. i've got distant relatives in ky. lets be safe out there!

I got hit the very same way, last January. Was lucky that my loader tractor is well weighted down or I would have been in trouble too. The guy that hit me did not pay any attention to the solid yellow lines, or my blinker lites.

I wonder if whatever he was in such a hurry about was worth it. Humans never cease to amaze me. Someday the infestation will end.
