haven't started my B fo awhile. went to start it and it fired right up then quit (cold blooded) no problem, tried again and again. flooded to the max, it started backforing through the exhaust. took the plugs out and they were nasty.(just got tractor this summer) i mean this trac ran great.put new plugs no change. to of mag cap and did the cleaning and still running on #3 only. took the mag off and brought tractor to #1 and time mag to trac, still only firing on #3.regapped points, made sure the mag meshed in the right beveled gear on mag. still nothing. can the mag go bad in a month just sitting in the garage? the plugs were just wet with gas, except #3 help please. gary

I wouldn"t spray starting fluid, could cause a nasty fire... try propane from a hand held torch.

Maybe your manifold rusted through. Spray some starting fluid around the manifold while it is running and see if it changes anything. Did you check the mag cap over closely for any cracks while you had it open? Rotor OK? Is the gear turning it? May have to remove the valve cover and check the action.

You may have valves that are sticking open which would cause that or you also could have ring that are sticking. Check compression on the cylinder that aren't fireing and also check for spark on those cylinders. If compression is low you might put some tranny fluid in each cylinder and let it sit a day or so.
