I know of a 289 or a 350 that used to be in a 45 AC- then later the tractor was returned to its original form. I have been trying to get the parts from the guy for ten plus years. He said I was to good of a friend to sell them to me. My understanding and I must say it has been a long time, but the plate must be home made to adapt, the biggest problem is the govenor must be a seperate unit run off of a belt. He claims the power train or his brain was way to small. My thinking is if a guy would not use it over it's original potential it would have worked. --YEA THAT SOUNDS LIKE A WORKABLE THING FOR A RED NECK GUY!!! When he had it in his 45 he would take a 3= 14s snap coupler plow and prove that in 4th gear it would take her going down hill anyway. No, of course you could not plow that fast, just had to prove a point. In Iowa we call it showing off. I used it to move a trailer in the winter one time, the hired man begged me to put the tractor back in the shed. He asked if he could crack the throttle open after he got it in motion, I said sure the owner couldn't drive across the highway without trying for a black mark, so go ahead. He started out, then cracked the throttle open and one hind wheel spun out on some ice, so he smacked the brake on the wheel to make the other one pull, we had metal flying out of the left side near the brake drum. I won't rip on you about destroying a good antique tractor, but will mildly complain that you sure got me to thinking again about buying the parts and make a real boy toy. NE IA Dave
