my son has a wd on the battery box there a decal about a weight transfor switch can you tell me what it does and how it works and if it is the big lever on the right side thanks for any help

When there is a large pull on the drawbar there is linkage from the drawbar to the hydraulic controls that lifts the mounted implement(plow) slightly and the weight of the plow is now supported by the tractor hense more weight on the rear wheels and hense better traction. This assumes that the controls are set as per instructions on decal.

Big lever on the right side is a hand clutch- stops wheel motion and gives you live hydraulics and pto. Weight transfer system allows the tractor to automatically transfer MOUNTED implement weight to the tractor wheels, improving traction. Involves the big spring in the hitch assembly, mechanical linkage to the hydraulic pump, and proper setting of ABCD screws as indicated on the decal on the battery box or in the operator manual. Bottom line is, spring detects wheel slippage and applies a bit of lifting pressure to the mounted implement, thus the weight adds to the rear wheels.
