CA hydralic pump piston stuck

I have a 53 CA that was making noise in the pto area. I took off the hydro pump and there was a piston stuck in. Now the problem I am having is.... how the heck can you get it out to see if the spring is broke or whatever might be wrong, so I can get it working right? Is there a secret to it? I was hoping not to have to tear the whole pump apart to do this. If I have to I will tho. Any suggestion as a way to get behind the piston so I can push it out?

I had a stuck piston on my WD-45 hydraulic pump (similar to CA); I used a hammer to drive it in a little bit further, then got it working in and out a little at a time, it loosened up in a few minutes. You could also try air pressure, but I am not sure where to apply it.
Soaking it in a good solvent first might help.

Thanks Tramway. I used some solvent to loosen it... the reason it wouldn"t move was mainly because the spring was broken into 6 pieces. Well at least I now know where that noise was coming from. I have a plunger and spring kit ordered and hopefully it will be here tomorrow. Ever since I bought this tractor it made the noise and I always thought the hydralics were a bit jerky.... now I know why. Feels good to have it figured out and know that it wasn"t anything real serious.
