I am putting A D17 engine back together after an overhaul kit. The question is: is there supposed to be an o-ring or any other kind of seal where the oil sump screen assembly fits into the engine oil pump. This assembly is held in place by a small cotter pin. I removed it to clean the screen and there did not appear to be a seal in place. Thanks in advance.
