I just bought an Allis 5040 from a local dealership. Its in really good shape and runs well. It has 2000 hrs on it. I got it and the six foot Howse bushhog that was behind it for $3500. But I have gone online and started looking to see how available parts are and have not had much luck. All I have been able to find parts for is the older Allis models. Is this a hard tractor to get parts for or is it easier for the dealership to get them? I've run into companies like Sparex for my Ferguson TE-20. They only sell to dealers. Did I make a mistake buying this tractor or is it not as bad as it looks?

If it says made in Romania, a Long tractor should be its counterpart. Not sure which model.

OK, the 5040 was not a Fiat tractor at least the ones I sold. They, if my memory serves me right they were a Bulgarian tractor, the engine was manufactured by a company by the name of Uzina Tractorul. They were totally different from the Fiat 5050. With the worldwide net I would think someone in Europe can possibly help you out, my suggestion would be to post on this website the Tractorul headline and you may get a response and you may get some White tractor people because they were working hand in hand with AC about that time.Good Luck CT

Thanks, i'll give it a try. I have noticed that the hood panels and others parts fit like three or four different tractors. I just don't know what models to compare to.

i use mine for loader work and doing utulity work on the farm. it has proven to be a very dependable tractor and user friendly. mine has the 9 speed transmission which works great for pto work beacuse ou can match the ground speed for about anything that you are doing. the only drawback i see is the two stage clutch that it uses to control the trans. and pto because it takes a while for the pto to engage.

Some of the parts for that tractor are hard to find aftermarket wise. Most of the parts should be available from AGCO. There are a lot more aftermarket parts available than what there used to be. Sparex for example has a very large selection of parts for the Fiat tractors. You will probably find more if you look under 2-50 White or 1265 Oliver. Was there anything in particular you were looking for?

The gauges look to be shot. I wanted to install new gauges and if the sending unit isn't working then maybe that too. I have never owned a tractor with a working fuel gauge. I was hoping to rememdy this. Also, the tractor is leaking powersteering fluid. I will need to replace these seals.

You need to try to narrow your propblem down to the sending unit or the fuel gauge. I will check and see if Sparex has either one. You might be able to get a seal kit from AGCO for your powersteering cylinder. I will let you know.
