I Have a Allis Chalmers WD with new rear rubber, new alternator, new water pump, new battery and rewired, new paint and decals, & a reconditioned radiator. It is a narrow front. How much could I get for it?

Thanks for your responses. The Tractor's been in the family for years, so I I think I'll keep it anyway, especially since it looks and runs so good. Thanks again.

Sadly all the comments so far are accurate. Allis Chalmers tractors just don't seem to get the prices that the green and red ones do. It too bd for those that spend many hours restoring the orange tractors. I know I couldn't get half of what I put into my WCs. But on the other hand I don't want to sell any of them. I restored them for me, not for someone to use as a yard ornament.

Hey Doug I agree with Rick,I have a 1950 WD with new tires all around, new alt,new wires, new paint, everything you described, and people look at me like I'm crazy for asking 2000.00 for it.I guess I should just give it away in thier eyes,I reckon.I had a john deere man tell me that you can't hardly give a allis away,so I'm going to keep it for bushogging.I'll put it against any A or B in the field.Maybe you won't have any trouble selling it.jack

Your WD is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Assuming the engine, transmission, differential and hydrolic systems are good, it should be worth $1600-$1900. If it's an exceptional tractor, it may be worth more.

A narrow front WD in good shape unrestored usually fetches around $1400-$1600 ballpark. With a good paint job, new tires, good mechanically $2200-$2400 ballpark. Wide front would increase it's value. One consideration with restoring tractors is you rarely get compensated for all the money and time you sink into it to do it right. People generally restore their tractors for a hobby or their particular interest that is non-profit motivated. I saw a WD45 for sale last month that the owner put over 1000 hours into. It was his first restoration and he was trying to sell the tractor for $8000.! He couldn't figure out why there were no takers...the tractor looked beautiful?
