I've got an AC66 combine, itentical to one my Dad bought new in the early 60's. My owners manual is for a B series 66 and the only thing I see different is the unloading auger - mine is detachable and comes out the side instead of the front. Can someone tell me a little more history on this. I never knew there was more than one version of the machine.

Those were the only two types available although the options for them were tremendous. We had a Big Bin 66 with the tandem axle attachment. Worked great when the fields were a little wet as it had a tendency to not want to sink in and floated well over uneven terrain.

I looked in my Allis book and as far as I can tell there were two different models of the 66. It looks like the earlier 66 had the auger in the front, and then 1955 they began making the "Big Bin" 66, which had a bigger grain bin and the auger was on the side.

The side auger ,is a big bin 66, 25 bu. instead of the old 18 bu.
