Hello all,
Came over from the Ford boards...
I'm going to look at a 3 point cultivator this evening.
Seller said it is a 3 row and that it is orange like an Allis Chalmers.
He used it behind his Jubilee so it must be 3 pt. and not snap coupler.
Did AC ever make a rig like that or do you think the paint has just faded from the old Ford/Dearborn red.
Also, weren't most cultivators either 2 or 4 row?
Just wondering what to expect before I get there.

Went to look at the cultivator. It was a Ferguson. Good condition so I bought it. $75

He also has a WD45 there. Tin looked good in the dark with only a mini Mag light. Has a tube frame loader with it. He said there is a sleeve or something gone bad in the engine. Getting antifreeze in the oil.
What was interesting about the Allis is it had a wide front with power steering. PS looked aftermarket with the steering hyd control added on the shaft before the steering box.
I was thinking that most of the WDs (like Farmall Hs)I've ever seen were narrow fronts. Might a 45 with WFE might be worth buying and putting on Ebay? He said $500 firm. Could a guy make a nickel on it to pay for his Ford habit?

2 row cultivators actually touch 3 rows while they are working, 1/2 of one row, a whole row, and 1/2 of another for a total of 2 rows. Maybe this is what he meant. We have a newer four row snap coupler cultivator that you can remove the snap coupler stuff and run it with 3-point. Maybe they made a 2 row version or maybe someone cut down a 4 row. Also to add to the mix Case used a similar color to A-C for years, and Eagle Hitch is very similar (imlements usually mount on 3ph, but 3ph implements often does not fit Case tractors) It could also be a off brand that used orange paint or someone painted it orange, it could be alot of things.

Never heard of a 3 Row /3PH AC Cultivator. I had two AC Snap Coupler 4 Row Cultivators in the 1960's and can not say enough good about them. I was using an AC 4 Row Frame Mounted Cultivator and the Rear Mount actually made Cultivating enjoyable so I bought another one for Custom Work for opthers.
