Any of you guys out there have an easy way to clean the chaff out of the front of the radiator and the grill. The Ford tractor grills we have hinge outward so you can reach your hand in.

I have a really tight mesh screen over the front grill of my WD that seems to catch all the junk that would get into the radiator in the field. A compressor pump or a water hose from the inside will knock free whatever your hand can't get, just don't bend up the inside of the radiator.

I have used some of that plastic window screen taped on the front of my tractors grill in real hig grass with dog fennel or ragweeds. You just pull it off in the field and shake it off, put back on and keep cutting. I also bought a gallon of that air conditioner condensor acid. When done mowing, mix it and spray the radiator fins, let sit about 30 minutes and hose off. Gets oil, grease and makes clogged fins clean by foaming. $13 a gallon and have used it 15 times, still plenty left.

David ,AC made a screen that fits over the front expanded metal, it is shaped to fit on it tight with two straps that bolt to the two bottom hood bolts.

I have the same problem and I've used both air and water from the engine side. Still never seems to get it all and its a pain to head back to the barn from the fields to do it. I got a piece of coarse mesh screen--about 1/4" and using a couple of stretch springs attach it in front of the WD's expanded metal grille. That keeps most of the trash from accumulating on the radiator fins and its easy to unhook the springs and shake the stuff off the screen to clean it. I suppose you could use window screen too but that would plug up pretty fast. Not a problem if you check it often though.

I take my air hose and blow gun and blow it out from the eingine side of it. Works well. You do have to sort of blow it out the side of the grill once in a while when doing it because the grill stops some of it
