When I try to start my WD. the engine turns over fast. I have spark but engine does not fire but after I crank the engine for a little bit gas pours out of the bottom of the carb. Took the carb off and cleaned it. It did not make any difference. Any recommendations on what to try next?

you might look to see if your exoust valves are stuck open.

I agree with the other guy. Probably a problem with the seat or float. One thing you might try is this. Turn the gas on, count to 30, then turn the gas off. Then try to start the engine. If it fires up then turn on the gas fast. Doing that might get it started and if it has something stuck in the needle seat are that might help clear it out. Now if after you turn the gas back on it runs just a short time and then dies and you have gas comeing out the carb I'll almost bet you have a hole in the float

Sounds like a float problem-either the needle is stuck or the float has a hole in it.

Ya, I thought it could be the carb that is why I took it apart. The float is fine or at least it is not taking on gas. IF the needle stuck open I thought gas would continue to go out the carb until the tank empties. ??

You don't say what make of carburator you have. I have seen the main jet on a Zenith carb back out of position and show the symptoms that you describe.

If the needle was stuck open yes it would keep flowing till the tank was empty but if its from some rust etc. in the seat then it would take a long time to empty. Shoot it took 30 minutes for me to drain about a gallion of gas out on my JD-B today when I was parking it for the winter so it does take a long time to drain a tank that way
