170 allis parts

I am helping my brother rebuild the transmission on a 170 allis chalmers. Can someone tell me where I might get parts. The parts I need are part number 226718 (mainshaft 1st) and part number 225962 (countershaft 1st) I have been doing some searching but with no luck so far. The part numbers I got out of the dealer parts catalog.

We bought the new gears and such we needed for our 175 from AGCO. Our thought was that used ones from other Allis tractors would be worn, or on the way to what ours were. We only shift ours standing still after we rebuilt the transmission. Don't want to do that again.

Good people to deal with. I buy combind part from them. They have a 800 number but I do not have it handy.

Try Schmidt & sons , In Mt. hope Ks, 316-445-2103, They had the gears I needed for my 175. And if they don't, I bet they will try to find them for you. Some dealers will
and some won't

Thanks I will give them a call. I know what you mean about some dealers trying to find the parts and others not. We have had no luck with the ones we talked to.
