My d14 threw a rod and cracked the block. I can get a d17 engine cheap. Will it fit?
Also, if not, what engines will fit?
Thanks!

the B,C,CA had 125 inch motors
the D10-12-14 and 15 had 149 inch motors.
the late D15 had 160 inch motor which will fit
the D17 had the 226 motor.

Never say never or so they tell me. Not with out building an adapter. The block will not bolt to your torque tube. The CA block will bolt up and has the four taped 5/8" holes in the front to bolt the bracket to. The B and C have four 1/2" X 13 holes for the studs that hold the front end to the block. The CA front bolts on the same way as the B and C but the CA has stepped studs from the 5/8" to 1/2".
You will have less HP as the CA has a 3.5 inch crankshaft stroke and the D-14 has a 3 7/8" crankshaft stroke. If no up grade was done you would have the 3 3/8" pistons in both engines.
