Do I have the right engine #?

I just was given a 1938 Allis-Chalmers WC. I just registered it. I wanted to make sure I have the engine number correct. The engine number I entered was U 3019-15. Is this the correct number to enter, or is there another number I need to look for? This is going to be my very first tractor restoration and I'm geared up to get started. Thank you for your help.

I understand now, but I'll tell ya what, I was lost for awhile there! Now if I can just figure out what happened to the detent balls and interlock bullets in my transmission, everything will be fine! ha ha ha...sigh

The number you gave is a casting number. Look on the back of the engine just above the bellhousing/clutch housing for your engine serial number.

Thanks John (C-IL). I FOUND THE NUMBER I WAS LOOKING FOR. IT WAS UNDER ABOUT AN INCH OF DIRT AND GRIME. BIG COUNTRY 53.
