my son just got a wd need help to fine the sereal number i don't know anything about it i know it is a wd the stickers are still there he paid 1000 for it with a brush hog on it what do they call the hitch on it my ford has a three point on it this is different thanks for your help

the id number is wd 39802 can you tell me the year the hitch looks the same but the little piece in the middle of the round shaft is missing thank all of you

You have a 1950 WD. You can find that information by going to the research & Info section and click on serial numbers.

Here is an image to help you locate the tractor serial number. All WD and WD45 tractor serial numbers start with WD. The engine serial number is located on a flat boss behind the airhose from the air cleaner to the carb. WD engine serial numbers start with WD and WD45 engine serial numbers start with 45.

Decals handy ever tell you the truth about these old tractors. Shoot you never know it the hood you have was from it when new or if some replaced it at some point or put differant decals on. As Dwayne say you need to find the numbers to be sure what it should be and even then it could be a mutt tractor which is one made from 2 or 3 other tractors. Also a WD-45 engine will bolt right into a WD so then it also wouldn't be a true WD.

The serial number should be stamped into the rearend housing just below the left brake cover. Should start with WD or WD45. The Allis hitch is called a 'snap-coupler', but some of the tractors came with a pin hitch.

SERIAL #s FOR WD AND WD45 BOTH START WITH WD. ENGINE SERIAL # ON A WD45 WILL START WITH 45. ON WD, WD.
