I want to use my WD to lift a flare box wagon. My neighbor told me I better not try it 'cause the WD has higher pressure hydraulics and will blow out the cylinders on the wagon hoist. Is this true? If so, is there way to make it work?

You can most certainly blow a cylinder apart using a wd hydraulic pump. They have been known to pump psi as high as 5000. Most lines now days are good for 3500. If you are careful it should not be a problem though. There are some adjustments on the pump that can be made to reduce the chances of having a problem. See your owners manual for details.

It"s a 60 something year old tractor. Unless you just rebuilt the pump, it ain`t got the power it once had, but then who does. As others said, don"t run the pump against a fully extended cylinder and you should be fine. AC used high pressure, low volume pumps while some other makers used low pressure, high volume pumps. Sometimes an AC will be a little slower at extending a big cylinder than another tractor might be. It ain`t really no big thing unless you are careless with a cheap or nearly shot cylinder.

I use my WD45 to lift my barge wagon all of the time. It's not a problem. You do want to be cautious when reaching the end of the cylinder, but that is true with all tractors.

you can use the wagon hoist with a wd but just be carefull not to extend the cylinder all the way to the end, as most were high volume low pressure, by extending cylinder to the end you "could" blow the end out of the cylinder. dad used his wagon hoist for years with wd/wd45 never had a problem blowing a cylinder out.

I've seen more then one after market cylinder hooked up to WD hyds before. Plus a good number of WDs have a remote hook up for a cylinder and I would think since they have the remore they would work on just about any cylinder. I know I used my WD45 this summer with my NH sickle mower and it has a cylinder and it worked just fine
