yes, it has spin out rear wheels, 4 speed and hand clutch. not sure what a snap coupler is, please explain... not sure about 4 piston hyd. pump either. it has 2 lift arms at the back on hydraulic cylinders but i can't seem to make them work... maybe i'm doing it wrong?

PTO has to be in gear for the hyds to work. Snap couple is hard to explain but its sort of a flip thing on the 2 lift arms that snap in place when you hook up equipment. Allis system was sort of an up side down 3 point system where the center link was low and the other 2 links high

The 'Snap Coupler' refers to the drawbar hitch- not the latch on the lift arms. You back the tractor up to the implement, until the drawbar 'snaps' in to place, then you hook up the lift arms. Lift arm latches had several different designs over the years, but the "Snap-Coupler' refers to the drawbar system- ring on the drawbar of the implement, and the bell-shaped housing on the tractor that the implement drawbar 'snapped' in to.

Thats a new one on me as I have alway been told its all 3 hook ups. The one under the belley and the 2 on the lift arms since all 3 snap in to place. I also know there is the pin type which some of my tractor have and I just got a plow in that used the pin set up one all 3 arms. Of course a lot of what I know comes from old timers and what they said isn't alway as what they say today

Murray, I'm not sure when the snap coupler came out our 52 ca does not have it, but our '55 wd45 does so it must of been in between there somewhere. If the lift arms are straight up and down you need to disconnect the rams at the lift arms and move the ram ends to the holes in the arms that stick in under the floor. To do this you must take the drawbar assembly off. There is a pin at the bottom of each arm that must be removed and one under the center of the tractor, also the two support pieces that go up by the inside of the wheels. This sound more complicated than it is. Get operators and service manuals either on this site or ebay first before you mess around too much, they will make everthing much clearer with thier pictures and diagrams. Good luck ,once you get the hang of all of this you will love this tractor. Mike

Snap-coupler came out in "53 with the introduction of the WD-45. That"s why your earlier CA doesn"t have it. The arms are pressurized one way only. Just release the pressure and if the arms aren"t physically stuck, push or stand on them and they should go down. (be careful, pulling from underneath they could release quickly) Another way is to release the arms from each of the hydraulic jack tubes and push the center tubes, one at a time, back into the jack casings.

sounds like a ca. are the tires 24"?
when you sit on the seat, there is a lever with a round finger pull below you on the right of bcenter. this lever engages the pto. you must push the cluth in to engage the pto the same as if you were shifting gears. once engaged, release clutch and the hydralics should work. they only work one way, up. to get them down you must apply a lot of presure (normal implement woud be heavy enough to lower them) this normal.
