Got a C with a wide front end. The pivot nub is sheared off the cross bar. Guess I will get something welded on in place of it. Any body got any better ideas. Thanks

My husband just bought an Allis-Chalmers C yesterday at an auction with a wide front end. I would like to find out more information on it. Is there a serial number on the tractor some where to look it up in a book. and to get equipment for it.

Yes, look right in front of the gear shifter. The serial number should be casted right into the metal there.

Yeah, the C front axle is more like a traditional axle, it comes straight out and down to the wheels at close to a 90 degree angle, and is adjustable width. They were not that common though, I had a chance to get one for mine a couple years ago.

I assume you are talking about the pivot at the back of the wishbone that goes through the cast lug on bottom of the bellhousing. I'd just grind it flush where the stud is missing, then take the proper size Grade 5 bolt & drill it for a cotter pin, cut the bolt head off & weld it to the wishbone. Then secure it with a castle nut & cotter pin. I did this to replace a badly worn pivot pin & made mistake of using grade 8 bolt & after ruining several bits trying to drill the cotter pin hole, finally resorted to double nutting it as I had enough threads.

Sounds like you may have a front end off a B and if so you should be able to get the part from AGCO

the c wide front end has a pivot pin in it also, so does the ca wide. Bob

So far I have never seen a C with a wide front end on it other then one taken off a B but you never know what you will see on one

I think I will just get a bolt and have it welded on. Doesn"t seem like much pivoting gets done. It says the pivot pin is welded to the axle then goes into the axle support
