IT HAS A FOOT RELEASE. TOUGH PLOWING WITH A TRACTOR WITH HAND BRAKES AND THE FOOT RELEASE WHEN YOU ARE USED TO FOOT BRAKES. BOB

It's the manual lift system for a mounted plow on a B Allis. You pull back on the lever to raise the plow and to lower it, you pull back on the same lever an push the short (release) lever forward with your right foot and let the long lever go forward to lower the plow.

Ken,

Do you happen to know if it's for the AC plow (right hand) or one of the possible aftermarket plows? If it's for the AC plow, it looks to be a different, earlier (?) version of that shown in AC manual TPL-178C:

I'm just curious if there are other aftermarket plows for the B out there besides the WIARDs.

I guess I will take it apart and clean it up one of these Days/ Weeks /Months/Years or something like that. I have a few dozen projects that should be ahead of that unnnlessss I get a bright idea that I would like to see how it really works. One never knows?? (:^D

Hmmm. That's interesting. It doesn't look like the manual lifts that AC used on the B/C pick-up plows or the ones used on the B/C belly sickle mower - for either the B or the C. At least those shown in the manuals I have. It certainly is not like the manual lift that's on my B WIARD pick-up plows. I have no idea. It doesn't look like a home-made deal. It has the appearance of an original manufacturer. I am told, but don't know if it's true, that there were "several" manufacturers of B/C pick-up plows other than AC during the war years, the WIARDs I have being one of them. I have only seen the standard AC ones (with hydraulic lifts) and no others like mine. But I don't get out that much :o). Whatever it's for, it appears to lift by pulling back (down) from the seat unlike my WIARDs which lift by pushing forward and lower by pulling back. I don't know what the manual lifts for the cultivators look like. Hopefully someone here can solve the "mystery".
