My neighbor has a 1972 allis 200 with factory cab and year old hyd pump,doesnt jump out of any gears,but has an engine knock now,18.4x38 rears,all glass in cab,he is wanting $1,500 is this too much you allis guys,I have a 74-200 allis thats open,just love the tractor,Is 1500 too much????

I would go for it. You can get a good used engine for less than the tractor costs and a rebuild kit for around 900 bucks. I would get it if you can afford it and can use it. A good used engine can had for probably less than 1500 easily. You could have a good tractor if the engine is the only problem for less than 3 grand and quite a few hours. Good luck. Also, check the rear levels, make sure that the differential compartment isn't leaking hydraulic-transmission fluid into the the gear oil in the final drives. Good luck
