Allis B serial # Update

Ok everyone, made another trip to checkout "B"used a black felt tip marker to black out area of serial # then wiped off as to leave black in the numbers. I then could read B118177 also found serial # of engine 176997 ?A. So with 6 digit serial # definantly not a 1943 Allis B. # indicates that it is a 1951 B

I have some pictures of the serial # will post them later this evening.

Agree 1951 tractor but if you got a good read on motor s/n its most likely a 1953 motor so it was no doubt replaced at some time. If he really wants a 1943 the s/n range would be B64501-B65502 - only 1002 made - first year with CE engine.

Guy that owns it wants to keep it as he thinks it was manufacture in 1943, year he was born. Hate to tell him tomorrow it is a 1951. Engine is frozen up, nothing over the exhaust. And have no idea how long it has set that way.....I'll pass.

Also missing lots of sheet metel and other parts.
Grill is gone so are the shudders. I get the feeling the guy thinks it is gold plated.

Sounds like its a $100-200 tractor at best. Well at least you will not be doing like I'm going to be doing all this week. 3 tractors and I'm not sure how much other stuff yet I get to haul in and then figure out if its worth the $3200 that the guy trade for it. Reason I say $3200 is that is what he valved his stuss at that he traded. I hope its not a done deal till I look the things over but you never know. I'd hate to tell my friend/partner that he got took

Keith, maybe you just need to get some glasses LOL. Well guess maybe you will have another toy to play with soon. I just got a call and was told I get to haul in 3 more tractors this week plus about 10 pieces of equipment to boot.
