How do you read the serial number on a allis chalmers B..what letters / numbers mean what?

If its a B the numbers will sort of look like this. B XXXXX . For the most part all the numbers do is tell you what year it was made if you look them up on the left under research&info

shrdz, serial # for C and B are stamped on a flat spot on top of transmission,little to the right and in front of shifter. Numbers can be hard to make out sometimes cause of age and all the paint.
Should only have one letter, Model, such as "B", followed by serial number.HTH
