I have a 195? WD that spun rod bearing,I can buy a good WD motor but the head is smaller in height. What is the difference? Thanks Doug in IL.

If you spun a rod bearing, then the crank needs to come out and be ground. Crank might be too bad to reuse. Engine needs to come out to get the crank out. The head will swap, just need to use the rocker arm assembly from the tall head. If you have or get a WD45 crank and carb, with the tall head you will basically have a WD45 engine and HP to match.

With the tall head the spark plugs were positoned more in the center of the piston - i dont think it made much more Hp but a better head

The heads were changed during production of the 'WD'. The 'tall head' was the later production style. I believe they will interchange, as long as you change the rocker assemblies as well.
Do both your blocks have the bolted plate on the magneto side of the engine? If your engine does not have the plate, it could be a WD-45 engine.

Thanks for the reply, it has the plate on the side, wish it was a 45. Did they get same HP out off the old one? Thanks Doug

They were the same HP until the 226 CID engine used in the WD45 came out.
