Have a gas 190 xt that has antifreeze in the oil. Is there anyway other than a cracked block for the antifreeze to get there? Thanks for the help

Bad O-Rings at the bottom of the sleeves. Also the sleeves can develop pin holes in the areas where they are near one another. This is cause by the ulta-sonic cleaning action of a diesel engines spark knock keeps the sleeve clean in these areas. The coolant, if not enough rust inhibitor is use, will rust though the sleeve. Been there, done that, got the tee shirt. Kent

Thanks for the advice. As soon as it stops raining ill have to get out there. I think my next problem will be finding parts. If it had a desiel there wouldn't be a problem. Maybe i should see about swapping in a 301 desiel? Any advice on 301 gas parts would be appreciated. Thanks

Old is correct. There can be many causes but probably the most common is the seals at the bottom of the cylinders - my experience is that this is between 50% and 75% of the time. I have seen a cracked head and some tractors have this as the greater tendency. And cracked block is a possibility but usually because of freezing. My experience is that cracked heads cause missing because the antifreeze goes into the cylinder. If it runs perfect, the seals at the bottom of the cylinders are most likely or a cracked block.

Old is also correct about storage. Drain the radiator and block. Put some oil in each cylinder. But my suggestion is to pull the head immediately. If antifreeze is coming from the head, evidence will be there. If you wait, the evidence may go away and finding the problem will be more difficult. There is an advantage in haste to tear down. If the cylinders are clear, pull the pan and look for leaks under the block around the cylinders. Once you've determined the problem, you can easily manage putting off the repair without any further damage to the engine.

Since i won't be able to get this looked at right away, how should i leave the tractor? Drain the watery oil and replace it, or also drain the radiator so no more water gets into the sump? I'm literally a shade tree mechanic, is this a rebuild that can be done in a shed? Thanks

I'd drain the oil and the radiator, and then also maybe blow out the cylinders with air and puor in some tranny fluid in each cylinder to keep it from locking up on you. If its a haed gasket you can probably fix that your self. If its a cracked head you will probably need a new head. As far as the rest I can't help you

Cracked block is just one of a number of places. Bad head gasket, cracked sleeve if it has sleeves, bad sleeve seal, cracked head. And I probably missed one or 2 others places
