i picked up a pulley and need to know if it should have a seal or something before i clean it and install it. its a 37 and as long as i have had it it has had a cover on it i bought a real nice pulley and before i start and then find out im missing something i thoght i would ask,thanks,kevin.

Hey Kevin There is a cork gasket that fits between the clutch housing and the frame rail. Run your right hand rear wheel up on something about eight inches high and remove the cover and inspect this seal to see if it has dried out. If it looks hard try soaking it with WD40 then coating it with gun grease. This gasket is a real chalenge to replace, it involves taking off the frame rail and you probably will want to try a few tricks before you do this. Good luck, Harry

the seal for the belt pully is between the houseing and the frame rails on the tractor. just remove the set screw on top of the belt pully houseing and insert belt pully and install screw into the proper hole to hold the pully in place.
