I have a '39 b without 3 point. Opposite belt pulley on rear end I have what looks like a welch plug (3" in dia or so). Is this the cover I need to have for the pump????Sure would be alot nicer if it had a 3 point. Should I be able to find all parts at an a/c recycle yard??

Clay is right on with all of his comments. I've done two three point hitches on C tractors (almost the same as doing on the B) and one on a CA. On my current C, I've got it set a bit too far back so the front wheels are light when I use the 5' shredder. I'll fix that before the mowing next spring. You should be able to find a tool bar for the rear of the B that can be modified to lift the three point arms. Because the cylinder is small, you'll need to give up some range in the lift (not lift as high). Some add a second cylinder but then you suffer slower lifting because the pump capacity is fixed. Good luck.

There should be a square plate about 4 inches across with bolts in the corners. These are the same bolts as would mount the pump. If you take this off and look inside the pto case there will be lobes on the drive shaft that push plungers on the pump. If you don't have the opening or the lobes you'll have to swap out the entire rear end. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding that stuff - thats one of the great things about B's. The 3 point wasn't a factory option so you may have to buy that new or some people just make them themselves.
