I have a crazy question but I don't know the answer. My AC B mower tractor runs great with the choke pulled all the way out but the motor will shut off if I push the choke in, even if I push it a little bit. Can anybody give me an idea what could be wrong?

Or a bad gasket somewhere letting it suck air before it gets to the fuel feed tube. Could be all that has been suggested or could be the gasket between the head and manifold, or could be the gasket between the carb and the manifold of could be the seal is gone on the throttle butterfly rod. If it is an old manifold that has been filled with water some time or other for a long period it could have a hole inside the manifold.
Check the easy stuff first and then keep checking until you find the cause.

My C did the same thing to me. You have one of a number of problems. First pull the drain plug from the bottom of the carb, make sure you have a good flow of gas for at least 5 minutes. Rig up a way to catch the gas. If you have a good flow then you have a clogged up carb. If not then then you have a clogged up fuel system. If I posted every thing on this you would be reading for 30 minutes. Post back after you have checked that stuff and I can problaby help you more of drop me an e-mail

Try lowering float level in carburator

Lowering the float level on a carb leans the mixture. If it will only run wuth the choke out the carb is already lean. If the carb is not dirty and does not have an adjustable high speed jet the float level needs to be raised not lowered.

Some part of your fuel system is clogged. It might be the tank, line, fuel bowl or carburetor.
Start at the tank and check for fuel flow. It might be that your carburetor jets are clogged, which means cleaning the carburetor.
