I too have EB questions...the serial number in question is EB5859. Its a tractor that my dad has had since it was employed to work at the AC proving grounds in Cedar Rapids.

THe proving grounds was basically a skunk works for scraper development in the late 50"s to 60"s.

This particular vehicle had some test and tune parts...one of which a 3 point hitch has been displaced (would like to locate one) and has lucas components exception is the mag its morse fairbank but have working lucas unit.

Would like to find source for new dist cap to be functionable...the under belly sickle mower is in place and the tractor is still being used to mow grass areas on acreage...Stout fun little tractor...

any help on pinning down the year etc. on the s/n would be appreciated...

Is the cap on your F-M mag broken or just porous and draws moisture? If porous you can seal the cap with clear top coat paint. If the cap is broken try www.magnetoparts.com

Kent, the FM mag is fine...Im looking for a cap to use on the Lucas...someone during a plug wire change broke the slotted screw head off that holds plug wire in place. No real way to get it out do to galvanic corrosion between the surfaces. I will try that site you suggested ...thx DS
