Adjusting Snap Coupler plow on WD45

Hey guys, were having a plow day sat. and i'm trying to set my plow. Having trouble getting it to go down far enough (will only do furrow depth of about 4 inches, would like to get 6 to 7 inches) Got the center crank about all the way in. It has a skid on the back, Should I adjust this? Oh, it's a 3-16.

Not knowing what type soil you intend to plow i would say that your WD45 is plowing at the maximum depth it can handle with a 3/16" snap coupler hitched plow.My opinion is 3/16" is way to much plow for a WD45.My Wd45's could pull a 3/14" plow in stalk ground but in alfalfa plow down they really struggled . On the side of the battery box is schematics for pressure regulation on the Draft if the angle of the plow is correct. Nose down on the lead share point may help soil penetration.

With the plow in the ground get off the tractor (stop first, LOL) and go off to the left side about 20 feet and look at the plow. Is it angled with the front end way down? Ill bet it is and most of the time worn out wear parts are the cause of those problems. With good shares and decent conditionsthe plow frame should be level no matter how deep you are plowing. If you have throwaway shares are they worn up into the frogs? If you have the older type shares are the points worn and angled upward? If so you wont get the plow into the ground. Sometimes the traction booster (draft) linkages are messed up and holding the plow up. Try placing the system in the load holding mode and see if the plow will go into the ground. Last thing is ground conditions. The older light plows seldom worked as designed in August dry hard ground.
