Hi, I am finally ready to pint my old WD. I've found two paint codes on this site but i don't know if they are no.1 Persian or no.2

One is: AC PERSIAN ORANGE 29047 Dulux from Dupont

The other is: AC PERSIAN ORANGE TP280 from TISCO

I would like if the one from dupont is the #1 persian and if these are PPG paints.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

i use the PPG 60080 paint for PO1. it is great stuff. Older version was DELSTAR and cost about $200 gallon. Newer paints they have a couple versions. Just make sure you get a hardener to go with the paint and use the automotive quality. I think the new PPG paints are OMNI and MAE, both ave very good and a littel cheaper than DELSTAR.

Here's a web site for tractor paint with PPG's paint numbers. I used the IH Single Stage red urethane on a Troy-Bilt tiller. Looks like new. Hal

Hi,

The 29047 is the later persian orange sometimes referred to as persian #2. 29047 Dulux is from DuPont, not PPG and is no longer available (at least in Dulux), the Dulux being DuPont's old alkyd enamel. You want the early persian orange (persian #1, so called) for your '52. If your preference is DuPont, you want YS074 as the closest match, in several different chemistries. If you want a PPG paint, you will want PPG 60080 for that early persian orange. I have more persian orange paint information on my webpage here, along with a visual comparison between the early and late "flavors" of persian orange. Scroll down for the paint section. There was a link in the paint forum at this site at one time for a visual comparison of DuPont's YS074 with some others. If you want, I can probably locate it for you. It was posted by Jason(ma) some time back in that forum. If he comes by here, he'll have a quick link to it.

this is with ppg's 60080 in concept and omni along with a napa code that I thought was close. I'd keep trying on the napa one if someone wanted to use that brand

wow I'm being referenced. There is several pic that I took, What I did was to buy a bunch of the persian oranges out there and spray them out for a comparison. I ended up using PPG's 60080 in the concept line on my Allis g

Persian Orange #1 until 1960. TISCO, fleet stores, bumper to bumper, implement enamel, etc., is crap that fades soon. Get one that can match the Dupont, Centauri, etc. codes, or go with AGCO.
