I had the generator rebuilt and they have put a cut-out on it and I can't get it to charge my battery. I would appreciate it if any one could help me obtain a wiring diagram, I would really appreciate it. Thanks DW

send me an e-mail and i will give you a wiring diagaram for a 1950 AC 6 volt tractor. [email protected] --- basically the "A" terminal on the generator goes to the cutout, othere side of cutout goes to the amp meter, other side of amp meter goes to the battery negative side. positive is ground (original). the "F" terminal on the generator is the grounded terminal. it normally goes to the light switch connected to the resistor terminal. with lights on you get full ground and max charge, with lights off, the resistor is in the ground line and you have a 'weak" ground and get a lower charge rate. you can test the generator by grounding the "F" to the frame of tractor. good bet is the light switch is bad, not grounded properly, or the resistor on the switch is bad.

The operator manual for your tractor has a complete wiring diagram for your tractor as it left the factory with the generator charging system, as well as settings for the hydraulic system, lube recommendations on a seasonal basis, basic control identifications, and tips on operator maintenance.
