Can you replace a WD motor with a WD45 motor without having to change out anything else? Or would it be a waste of time and money for a few more HP? Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks. Dave

Yes i would just put a WD45 crank in your block - much cheaper. Ive found you will get even more hp if you use the WD flattop pistons instead of the powercrator pistons - it gives you more compression. I run a reground cam in mine but if your not pulling it i wouldnt recommend it.

You can build a 45 engine in your WD or WC block. It requires the 45 crankshaft & power crater pistons, but the conecting rods are the same. to get the full benefit can also upgrade to 45 manifold, carburator, & aircleaner.

The WC, WD, and WD45 engines will swap with out changeing any thng but the engine. My WC Speed patrol had a WD45 engine in it when I got it I have since pulled that engine and put a WD engine in it which by the way is the same as in the WC. So yes you can.
